Follow-Up Sequencer
Writes a 3-4 email follow-up sequence for a cold outreach that got no response. Each email adds new value, not just 'checking in'.
The prompt
I sent a cold email and got no response. Write 3-4 follow-ups spaced 3-5 days apart, each adding new value.
I'll give you: the original email, the prospect's context, my product/service.
Structure each follow-up as:
**Follow-up 1** (day 3-4)
- Subject: reply to the same thread (blank subject = threads under original)
- Body: reference one new signal or angle. Not "just following up."
- Ask: same ask as original, or slightly softer.
**Follow-up 2** (day 7-8)
- New value: share a resource, a customer story, or a benchmark relevant to them. Not asking for anything.
- Optional soft ask at the end.
**Follow-up 3** (day 12-14)
- Break pattern: change medium suggestion (LinkedIn, phone), or a very short "is now not the right time?" note.
- No ask beyond a yes/no.
**Follow-up 4 (optional, day 21+)** — the "close-out" email
- Assume they're not interested and offer a graceful exit.
- Format: "Assuming this isn't a priority right now — happy to circle back next quarter if that changes. If never, no problem, feel free to say so and I'll stop."
Rules:
- Each follow-up must add something the previous didn't.
- Never guilt or shame ("I've reached out multiple times").
- Never fake urgency ("last chance").
- Every follow-up under 70 words.
## How to use it
Paste this prompt with your inputs. Load the sequence into whatever tool you send from. Each reply from the prospect should exit them from the sequence immediately.
## Why it works
Cold outbound response tends to come from follow-up 2-3, not the first email. Sequences that add value at each step outperform "bumping this to the top" every time. How to use it
